Road Directions – Lumberton, NC to Southport, NC:

  • The easiest way from Lumberton is to go NC Hwy 211 all the way to Southport; turn left off NC Hwy 211/N. Howe St. onto Stuart Avenue at the Kangaroo Express/BP station; go through a residential section until the road ends at the Presbyterian Church; turn left onto E. Moore St./NC Hwy 211; go to the turn-about and turn right onto Ferry Rd SE/NC Hwy 211; turn right at first road with a sign Deep Point Marina/Bald Head Island Ferry (BHIF): go straight until you see the sailboats. Stop. Parking is tricky. It is easy to end up in the BHIF parking so don’t go to the large building (or you will have to circle all the way around). You’re here! Now walk to Dock C and go to slip #7. Welcome aboard!

    Road Directions – Lumberton, NC to Oriental, NC:

  • The best Non-interstate way from Lumberton is to go NC Hwy 41 West (through Elizabethtown, turn right at White Lake, through Harrells, Wallace, Beulaville and Trenton) to US Highway 70 (mile marker 400), turn right onto US 70 East, go about 16 miles to New Bern, get in right lane and take *Exit 417 (NC Hwy 55 East) towards Washington/Bayboro, go over the long bridge, then take first exit to right, still on NC Hwy 55 East (through Grantsboro, Alliance, Bayboro, Stonewall and Merritt) to Oriental. Start slowing down as you go by Town & Country Grocery on your left, turn left at the Century21 sign onto Ragan Road, at church turn left onto Lupton Drive, it dead-ends at Sailcraft Marina, go slightly left, then right to come in the driveway (boats on both sides) straight to the swimming pool area and park! You’re here! Now walk through the shelter by the pool onto the dock, turn left and go to slip #22. Welcome aboard!


  • The best way using Interstate-95 (saves about 10 minutes if the there are no slow downs on I-95) is to take I-95 north to Exit 58/US-13 on the other side of Fayetteville, US-13 to traffic circle in Newton Grove, then NC-55 towards and passed Mount Olive and Seven Springs until it runs into NC-11 near Kinston; turn left unto NC-11 and go to intersection with US-70 (Kinston by-pass); then right onto US-70 to New Bern. Exit 417 onto NC-55 (see further instructions above*).

  • (Alternate Route #1) I-95 to US-70E near Smithfield/Selma; then US-70 to New Bern. Exit 417 onto NC-55 (see further instructions above*).
